I was recently laid off at a big pharmaceutical company and I'm having trouble finding work. I've applied to so many positions in the past couple of weeks it's not even funny.

So who here can help me find another job? I have experience as a Finance Analyst, but I can be an analyst in other things, because really the only thing different is Data, trying to figure out how you use the data is pretty much the same in any field.

so anyone here in Analytics or statistics?

sci, is there a mathematics history book that tells you how those ancient civilizations created math? sorry for not being able to explain better, english is not my birth language.

after i finished reading Lockhart's Lament and it is so true about it, in every math class i've been it's always that '' memorize this, memorize that'' and i always wanted to know the history behind mathematics.

I would like you to suggest me a book that besides telling you the history of mathematics, how they created it, how they deducted that, and how it is used in the modern world.

all coming from a highschool drop-out trying to start from the beginning.

i'd appreciate your contribution.

It has been a while since I've done mechanics, and in projectile motion I know things are treated differently in 2D kinematics than 1D, so this may be wrong. However, this is what I did:
Remember that
a(t)=-9.8
v(t)=-9.8t+v(0)
s(t) = -4.9t^2 + v(0)t + s(0)
where v(0) is your initial velocity and s(0) is your initial position. So plug in your v(0) and s(0) into the equation for distant (s(t)) and you want to solve for when it hits the ground, which is when distance is equal to 0. So solve for t (use the quadratic equation) you get t = 4.69864 seconds.
Now, speed is the magnitude of velocity, so plug that t into your equation for velocity, and take its magnitude, and you get 62.0467 m/s.
Kinetic Energy is 1/2*m*v^2, you know m, and you know v, so KE= 1154.94 Joules.

Again, I'm not 100% sure this is correct, so if someone can confirm this or tell me I'm wrong, please do. I don't want to be held responsible for him failing his test from my advice. lol

Like many of you I procrastinate on homework untill the last day. I need to have 40 of these surveys filled out bu the end of the day, can you guys help me out.

Question1. Do you think we use the death penalty enough?

2. what forms of the death penalty do you think are still used today?

3. do you think more brutal methods of execution like the electric chair are still acceptable?

4. do you think we would save more money by pushing more convicts into death row?

5. How long do you think a person should be on death row before there execution?

6. Do you think a rise in the death penalty will lower the crime rate?

7. Does your state have the death penalty?

Thanks for helping out

I fucking hate that show. Especially that fucking annoying character Sheldon. His mannerisms aren't funny, they're annoying and it's not even a consistent character. In one scene he could be discussing comics books or whatever and in another scene explaining to his friends how "terminator isn't real...it's just a show", the fuck?

I'd say about 2/3 of the show's "jokes" are Sheldon's weird behavior which, as I already said, it's not only unfunny but also fucking annoying.

Then you have the rest of the "jokes" being pop culture references about nerds. For instance when someone breaks into their apartment and steals their stuff, Sheldon is telling the insurance employee about his lost games and he just lists a bunch of high profile games, what an embarrassment.

All my friends like that show and when I tell them I hate it they just go "but whyyyy it's a show about us!". Fucking rage.
