Glass isn't invisible though. Glass is see-through.

Air is invisible. You can't see it. Its got superpowers.

0.999... approaching 1 is like an eternal road trip to disney world where you never actually get there and you also have to take a pee but your dad just keeps telling you to hold it. Then one day you make it to the parking lot and it's gigantic so you spend 7 weeks looking for a parking space and finally you find one but it's 10,000 miles walking distance from the park entrance and like, yea, you're "at" disney world in a sense, even if you're actually not in the park having fun riding rollercoasters, therefore this definition of being at disney world when you're going to spend the next 3 years walking across the parking lot doesn't exactly mean too much and every time you pass by a parking attendant valet greeter who says "welcome to disney world!" you'll probably just want to literally murder them.

>tfw you realize that it's impossible to be a decent mathematician unless you were a child prodigy
Literally anybody with a three digit IQ can be an experimental scientist or a code monkey. But the really interesting stuff is inaccessible to us brainlets. We will never truly understand mathematics the way that Gauss or Ramunujan did. They are gods in comparison to the average man.

Why you ask? Well, you see there's this estimate that about 87-92% of modern physics are made by White man. Actually to this day we're still just proving and experimenting things that "old White men" predicted in last 500 years. Good example would be gravitational wave or Higgs boson. In chemistry this % is even bigger. Example have you ever seen periodic table with founding country's flag attached to each element box? And we shouldn't even go to computer sciences because there the gap is even bigger than in natural sciences. Do I even have to talk about liberal arts and economic scientists? Both were basically created to begin with by evil Whiteys.

Now, how do you think that this kind of "celebrate scientists" things fits to modern USA? When some snowflake sees how general theory of relativity wasn't created by queer black boy the outrage would be enormous.

Sciences and scientific discoveries are simply too "white" in United States and in modern world generally. Pure racism if you ask me...

Seriously, I think you want help, not suicide. Someone truly suicidal feels a sense of relief because they've made up their mind to end their life. They throw themselves off buildings or slit their forearms down the middle in a hot bath.

Pills are 99% used by people who do not want to die but want the people around them taking their depression and suicidal thoughts more seriously than they are.

Do you really want people to remember you as someone who gave up? I've struggled with suicidal thoughts before. I know its hard. Shit, I spent this entire morning walking around the house crying because my wife is at her career and I'm in a farmhouse 30 miles from a gas station because I wanted to support her career.

Biggest thing keeping me from doing it is that I know she'd either follow suite because we both hate the decision we made to move here, or at the very least she would be traumatized.

Life is pain. comrade, and if you're under 30 you really don't know jack shit about life and where it can lead you and how strange and enjoyable it can be.

This coming from someone who, I reiterate, has thought about at least 20 ways to kill myself and even went so far as to send my wife out of state for a "surprise visit" to her parents so I could avoid her having to see my corpse.

Instead I drank the pain away and watched tv until I fell asleep.

Life fucking sucks, which is why we all hate people who commit suicide. Its cheating. You are here to suffer and occasionally feel good, not the other way around. Sorry.

This is some tl;dr but I do have a point to make.

The majority of prodigies are nothing more than bright kids with psychotic parents, and while there are outliers the majority of "child prodigies" rarely make any real contribution to science or engineering. They either level-out with their peers, hide away in academia for their entire lives, or they lose their shit/register autistic.

I was good at arithmetic as a kid averaged in the 90% percentile in standardized tests. Got a lowly 25 on the ACT and didn't bother with the SAT.

I smoked tons of weed, used narcotics recreationally and was only interested in girls, vidya, and guitar.

Got like a 2.8 HS gpa, accepted to decent state uni taking graduate-tract stem courses. Legitimately did not know the difference between a function, an expression, and an equation when I started my freshmen year. Failed mat 106 twice, figured I was retarded, dropped out.

Went back after 4 years at 24, took 106 again the summer before my first term there. It was a class of about 8 people and it was taught by a whimsical emeritus professor who did shit old school. Made us write proofs of the quad. formula and learn set-builder notation. By the time we finished log and exp functions it was almost like I'd grown a new lobe in my brain. 2.5 years later and I'll soon have a BA in pure mathematics and BS in biochem (and English minor because fuck you that's why), just over 3 more semesters to go. Will likely graduate with great honors, excellent grad school and career perspectives, even considering giving the MCAT a try. Also still do drugs occasionally and smoke weed.

>point

Fuck "prodigies." Try learning math from almost scratch--from not knowing how to graph a linear function to enthusiastically learning complex analysis after 4 years of never doing any mathematical processes more complicated than kitchen and budget stuff.
