Thinking about such things would mean hard. The Consumers must stay busy at all times keeping themselves content and bloated feasting on the world's resources, and making plants to facilitate such. They would rather not think about how their gluttony is merely just another force of nature, accelerating the descent "to the lowest possible energy". In fact, The Consumers tend to take pride in their own personal contribution to achieving the "lowest possible energy".

The Consumers are actually members of a sick cult, all competing and driving each other to be the best possible little entropy creators they can be. They all follow the Good Book of Economics, their god is Mammon, and they won't stop until literally everything is dead.
