Is applied maths really maths?

Why do people think climate has to be constantly the same? We know it's been changing drastically throughout the history, it's been super hot, it's been super cold with every path of land covered in ice, so why now temperature rising by 0.01 degree over couple hundred years is now such a big deal?

What is better, free groups or symmetric groups? Every group is a free group mod some relations between elements, but also every group is a subgroup of some symmetric group, so which property is better?

Height and penis lenght in centimeters, weight in kilograms, this seems to work pretty well, but does anybody know why?
