Example of soviet incompetency. Bringing up problems resulting in reprisals. Eventually this snowballed into a widely neglected plant that complicated existing flaws with the design.

They don't "tend" to blow up, you utter brainlet. There have been nearly 500 reactors built and all so called catastrophes were overblown and were not the result of any inherent fault with nuclear power. Reactors from the fucking 1950s are still in operation today.

The human brain is exponential. The more it knows, the more it can know. If you learn a web of knowledge rather than a simple string of facts you will remember more, know more about the topic, and retain more of it. It’s one of the more brilliant aspects of this most complex biological computer. It is not a bucket that you have to forget things to remember more. Sure, some parts of the brain work like that for changing short term memory into long term, but for long term, complexity is king.

The Imperial system is not simple. The Metric system is very simple. Sure I can remember 10 of everything. But my brain uses more to remember 12 inches in a foot, 3 feet in a yard, 1,760 yards in a mile. The worst thing the UK did to its people and their potential was to decimalise the monetary system. Pre-decimal, people knew there were 12 pence to the shilling, 20 shillings to the pound, even 21 shillings to the guinea. Does the impact of that not register? Think about it, people could do base-12, base-20, and base-21 maths IN. THEIR. HEADS. No calculator. It’s no wonder the Industrial Revolution, inventions, and concepts the world depends on originated in Britain. Their brains were massive. The Germans have come up with a lot, sure, but imagine if they weren’t handicapped by a simple base-10 measurement system during their formative years. Now THAT would be an Übermensch.

Next, the Imperial system (and Fahrenheit) are based on the human experience. Most people have a foot at the end of each leg and if their own are small, they’ve encountered men’s feet. And, it may seem odd that 32° is freezing and 212° is boiling, but note they are 180° apart, half a circle! And for most of us in the Western world, our life experiences are between 0° and 100°F. “What will today be?” “In the 70s.” I know what to wear. The 20s C? Massive difference between 20° and 29°. Not very user friendly in terms of a mortal being living his life. But I digress.
