Would Booster 7 have made it if the HPUs didn’t fail? How does a HPU even explode?

To add onto this:
I am legitimately curious about the reasons the 5 raptors that failed in-flight, plus the 3 that were shut down at liftoff, ended up meeting their ends.

We see that most of the failed Raptors exist on one “side” of the Superheavy. Many of them also failed in close proximity to one another.
I wish SpaceX opened up about what failed, and how they plan on fixing this.

A final thing: I feel like SpaceX forgoing a static fire at 100% throttle was a mistake which led to issues on ascent propping up.
Starship static fires at near-full thrust and as a result, even the less-reliable Raptor 1’s had a near-perfect ascent record.
