How many nuclear/fusion bombs would it take to uncover greenland. I dont care if it melts all the ice or if it blasts it into the ocean. Placing the bombs under the ice is acceptable.

So you may ask myself >why the fizzle everbuddy uses pumps then.
Well thats simple pump fed liquids are awesome, cant beat them on mass efficiency numbers. BUUUT dem newtons bro. The amount of thrust you can get from one of these would be tremendous, potentially much higher than a solid. You could dump so much fuel so friggen fast your rockets will go off like scared cats. This is really important because a large amount of a rocket's fuel is spent combating gravity loss, the faster you get off the ground the less gravity loss you have. This is a big reason why SRB's are used. To do the same thing with a pump system you have to take the most expensive component in the rocket and make it several times more powerful and you'd need staged pumps to deal with cavitation and a whole load of other shit.

Hey sci, just looking for two books: one regarding animal/human physiology that relates bodily structures with their geometrical significance. i.e. This thing works to make a waterproof coat, this thing maximizes surface area for more reactions, blah blah but for all the stuff like kidneys, heart, eyes -- all the parts of the body. And I want it to be in detail, not just overly general stuff that everyone knows.

Secondly, a good book on infinities and infinitesimals.

Thanks

Sup /sci/,
wanted to know the name of the website which, given a text, replaces some of the words with synonyms, allowing the user to pass the plagiarism check.

Can anyone help me with this physics question:
Coherent light, with a wavelength 632nm, illuminates a pair of slits in an otherwise opaque obstacle. The slits are 0.05 mm apart. In how many different directions will intensity maxima arise?

Hey /sci/ i need some help from any genius economists/ statisticians...

how can i show that

E[Y(t) | I(t)] = 0

implies serial uncorrelation.

I(t) {Y(t-1), Y(t-2), .....}

where the (t) and (t-1) are subscripted indicators of time periods...

any help or guidance on this will be so helpful and rewarded with the best of the beautiful women I can find on my hard drive...

Much love

On another note,
1. Science is clear that a fetus is an undeveloped human being, not a human being exactly
2. Human beings deserve human rights, fetuses aren't human beings technically
3. Human rights include the right to life. Fetuses don't have rights, as well as your mother

So can anyone explain an algorithmic process to take a nxn determinant. I can do it for n<4 but when it gets greater I am not sure (have not taken linear algebra or equivelants).

sup /sci/, i just started physics, and i must say, i find it very interesting, but yet, i have this question. Is physics really just a bunch of theories, i mean. everything is still a theory, no matter how proven and believable it is. we still have yet to actually prove them. so my question is, why is everything in physics a theory?

What does /sci/ think about death?
Do you fear it? Do you embrace it?
Do you think science will ever discover immortality?

not a creation/religion/troll thread just discussion...
