Don't ever get sinus surgery, it'll give you ENS and make you an invalid

hey /sci/

thinking of changing my major to biomedical engineering (tissue), the only thing is I've heard it's impossible to get a job unless you have an outstanding academic track record because it's a very recent field of study. Can anyone elaborate more on this?

hey /sci/

it's me for the 7,000th time....

Just wondering if anyone knew of any tissue engineering labs/uni/whatevs that are working on regenerating turbinate tissue/nasal mucosa.

THX

Hey /sci/ any medfags on today?

Empty nose syndrome patient here, I've been looking at treatment options and they're very expensive (seeing as they're experimental and not covered by insurance), some ranging around 66k.

I think the main issue is because it is difficult to firmly confirm the diagnosis for secondary atrophic rhinitis. But couldn't a biopsy to test for metaplasia confirm this? Why would/wouldn't it work?

Someone please help me

I've recently been diagnosed with an incurable iatrogenic condition, it causes my nervous system to go into overdrive all the time and one of the predominant symptoms is insomnia.

I'm so fucking scared

The only option are a number of surgeries classified as experimental, but it isn't covered by insurance. I had to drop out of school because of it, but I can't even get a job as a shitty cashier somewhere because of the economy to pay for it.

Someone please help me, are there any biomedical tissue engineers online today?

Hey /sci/

ENS patient here, I have a rare, frequently misdiagnosed, debilitating disease that could be easily cured if there was virtually any research being done on it. Does anyone know if there are tissue engineers working on the regeneration of nasal epithelium/bone etc?

Someone please give me some hope, this disease doesn't allow me to sleep and I had to drop out of school as a result. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hey /sci/

Empty Nose syndrome patient here, does anyone know of any tissue engineers/universities/labs working on the regeneration of nasal epithelium? Specifically turbinates?
