calling all chemfags

writing a lab report for my gen-chem lab tomorrow on the synthesis of aspirin

pretty common lab and basically we synthesized the aspirin, determined the molar absorptivity of salicylic acid, and on the last part determined the absorbance of the aspirin sample.

in the last part, the mass of aspirin sample is .1105g and the absorbance of the aspirin is .734. I'm supposed to determine the moles of salicylic acid in the aspirin sample and i have no idea what to do.

Im pretty sure i'm supposed to use Beer's law but i only have the molar absorptivity for salicylic acid, not for aspirin.

tl;dr need help on bullshit chemistry

Hey /sci, I hate chemistry, I don't like it, understand it, and don't want to study it. What other dignified scientific fields are out there other than physics and math?

Hello /sci/,

I'm seriously considering switching my major to chemistry as it has always been my favourite science and it seems to have a lot of career opportunities. I'd love to hear about people's experiences both studying it and working in the field.

Thank you.

Guys, please help me with this chemistry question:

Lysozyme is an enzyme that breaks down the cell walls of the bacterias. A sample is 13.930 g / mol. 0.100 g of this enzyme are dissolved in 150g of water at 25 ° C. What is the melting point?

Thank you!
