Greetings /sci/, I recently received an invitation for interview at Cambridge regarding my application to study physics there (4 years). My interview will be in early December, and I have a few weeks to prepare. It would be interesting to hear from other people who have been invited to university interviews, and also useful to hear specific techniques that could be important for example for problem solving. Also, any general advice for interviews will also be appreciated.

Hi /sci/, i need help making a simple formula in MS Excel. (It's for a class & i surely will never need it in my chosen career) Sorry if starting tech support threads is frowned upon. I can by a cheap steam game for someone who helps.

I'm trying to use (A= 0.67 x T – 13.7) where I know A and need to find T. T is supposedly the freezing temperature for some ice samples so i'm expecting it to be about 0 (A in the dataset ranges between about 37 and 43).

but with the formula i use, i get between 1.06 and 0.94. as the temperature for the freezing of the ice.

The formula i'm using is [=0.67-13.7/B26] but apparently i'm shitty at excel formulas and/or math because my answer seems high by exactly 1.

why am I getting roughly 1 on my answer instead of roughly 0? i'm pretty sure arctic ice doesn't freeze at 1 degree warmer than anywhere else on the planet. And I don't want to just use (+1) at the end of the formula because that seems like a quick fix.

If I get a good answer I can buy a cheap steam game for the person who answered so put a tripcode or a steam id or something with your reply if you want. I will be out and about for the next maybe 90 to 120 minutes for a meeting at work but will buy a game for the first/best answer (if there is any) when i get back. I also need help making a chart so will pay out for that later on if the thread is still alive.

Let me ask you then, is there any other on the same level at this moment? Or has there been between now and back when einstein lived?

Let's have a discussion about ETHICS.

I suppose, from observing the behavior around here, most people, or at least the most interesting people, are amoralists in general aspect. I, too, consider myself to be an amoralist, par excellence.

I would like to bring forth a discussion in this subject. What is ethics? How has it been created, or invented, and why? How has it evolved or developed? Why do we need it? How does ethics relate to our society, and why is it beneficial (or not)?

Don't bring in shitstorms.

War scene nowhere related.

Can someone please show me what is wrong with this article, besides the unscientific writing style? Ignore the website and just point out methodological flaws in the article. If you can.

>Is it just me or is there more of better rock/metal scene as opposed to all this pop bullshit in America?
Scandinavian countries have the best metal (norway, sweden, denmark, finland, etc.)

>Oh and is it safe to say Europeans are a bit more educated than Americans?
The average population is on average superiorly educated above americans, but the level of american Tech uni's are on average far superior.

so our average intelligence and schooling is higher, but you have more epic scholarly heroes.
