Next you download the syllabus of each course and throw it in the respective folders. Then go course by course and add every single due date/important date to the calendar of each course. And add a two-day reminder to every course calendar. You're not going to be working days ahead of time, so why lie to yourself? Give yourself the two day reminder so you can work last minute and not be stressed by unwelcome surprises, because there won't be any.

Next, approach the "do something" method. You don't have to nail anything or finish a huge assignment or reading. You do? Great. You don't? Make sure you do something. Even if it's literally ten minutes of actual work in a whole day. It means you're on the ball. It means you'll trigger a tiny area of your reward centre and be motivated to figure something out or organise further. That's the first step to a positive habit.

You have to do all this and make it POSITIVE. You can do it. You have the tools. You know when things are due. The readings, due dates and syllabus are accessible and because everything is color coded you have a visual tactical view of your work.

Finally, take some notes on every reading. Even if they're useless. Find something interesting and take even two sentences of notes for the reading. You will show up to class with the literature anchored and will always have something to call back on.

That's about it from me. I'm doing my Masters' now and still have shit focus, but I've used technology to my advantage and will never get overloaded like I used to. And slowly, positive habits will build.

The fact that you're asking means you want to improve- channel that positivity into these simple steps and feel GOOD about it and getting shit done.
