You're letting his accomplishments and your ignorance to any statical analysis lead to a very unlikely conclusion. We cant really know who is smarter, and smarter in what way? Tao is studying in a world with the internet, with advancement programs and modern teaching methods. when you can download a quantum physics textbook in a few seconds. Euler lived in a world with none of that. And contributed so much to the field of mathematics that the entire world should know what he did. But does inventing the theory make you smarter than a person would can understand it at an early age? I don't know, and i bet you don't too. Intelligence is a very tricky subject to tackle when comparing people from 3 centuries ago.
