/sci/,
I have an interesting question for you.

This is what we know:
- Something that is black doesn't reflect any (for humans visible) light
- Something that is red only reflects red light
- Something that is white reflects all colours of light

Question:
Why are mirrors mirrors?
Why are they not white?
They reflect all colours of light.

TL;DR: how do mirrors work?

What's the reaction that involves silver solution that precipitates silver metal on surfaces like glass? I've seen it done in chemistry demonstrations, where a large spherical flask was used, and it became like a mirror. I know it has something to do with silver...
