Cambridge medicfag here.

Resat anatomy on Monday (failed professional part of the exam- got a 2nd class in Tripos Degree part though).

Anyway, I'm going to the Senate house in a bit to see if I've passed or failed the professional part again. Apparently if I fail it twice then they can kick me out... Does this happen in practice, or do people usually get another chance?

Will deliver pic of Pass/Fail in a few hours after going to the pub. Thanks

Sup /sci/. Does anyone know anything about getting into Cambridge to do maths? I'm not really worried about the STEP. I know 80% of UCAS applicants get invited to an interview and about 20-30% of interviewees get a conditional offer. So my main concern is the interview. Does applying to somewhere like Trinity reduce my chances or do I have as good a chance of being pooled to another college? What kind of questions will I be asked?

Why does the University of Cambridge produce so many Noble Prize winners, compared to other Universities of equal status.

Also, fellow Cambridge students... How did May Week go? How many May Balls did you attend? And how much money did John's spend on fireworks? It was quite a show, even from Magdalene Bridge.

Good afternoon /sci/. I'm here today with an anecdote and some priceless advice for any prospective Oxbridge candidates, in particular Cambridge candidates. I decided to post this now as the deadline for application to Oxbridge is soon approaching, and I trust that some of /sci/ may be applying to either Oxford or Cambridge this year.

My now former college was very, very pushy when it came to convincing students to apply to Oxbridge. They usually have 5-10 people who they pretty much pressure into applying to either university.
This year there were 8 students they worked on, myself and 3 very close friends were among these students. 3 applied to Oxford(none were given an offer, one wasn't given an interview and Oxford supposedly gives an interview to all applicants, including those not currently reaching the requirements). The other 5 applied to Cambridge, myself and 2 of my friends for Natural Sciences, our other friend for Mathematics and one girl for Law who was rejected after an interview.

My friends and myself all did well with our GCSE's and AS levels, getting a good number of A*s each at GCSe and As in all subjects at AS level, so we were all equal academically.
Now, myself and one other friend, we both have fathers with Degrees, they met at Durham and our families have been close friends before myself or my friend were born. Our other friends do not have fathers who advanced to Higher Education, ones father was a miner and the others is a taxi driver. It may be important for you to note that my closer friend(for now we'll call him X) and I come from upper-middle class families whereas our other 2 friends'(Y and Z, Y is the other Nat Sci applicant) families are considered working class.
