A doomsday device is an incredibly large and dirty nuke so powerful that no matter where on earth it explodes, the radiation will (eventually) cover the whole planet. Freed from the constraints of having to deliver the device to a target how would you design it?

My design would be a conventional fission/fusion bomb but the fusion stage would be 10 miles long and surrounded by a giant thick tubular tamper of Uranium and Cobalt. That way you can use cheap Tritium/Deuterium/Lithium. One side would have already exploded before the other side even starts exploding. I call it "Big Long Dong".

Any nuclear Anons want to submit a better design idea?
