Gravity is often discussed as an acceleration. For example, the average acceleration of gravity on Earth's surface is about 9.81m/s^2.
If you only take one thing away from this post, this should be it: Gravity is not the acceleration of matter. It is the acceleration of space.

Space flows and accelerates as a perfect fluid. An ether, if you will. This is nothing new. Karl Pearson, who inspired Einstein, laid out a very similar theory to what I am about to propose. I will provide a link to his theory below.
