The real question is do the risks of taking a new vaccine outweigh the risks of contracting COVID? The real answer is it depends.

If someone chooses not to vaccinate, then they risk unknown long term effects of COVID. If someone chooses to vaccinate then they risk the unknown long term side effects of the vaccine.

I would much rather take a chance on never catching COVID, and then take another chance on the health effects from it, rather than taking a chance on the unknown side effects of a new vaccine. I choose to take these risks because I am a young healthy person and do not hang around with people with serious health concerns. If I contract the virus I have the ability to quarantine and recover.

With that said, the risks associated with the vaccine may be worth it for those who are financially struggling and cannot work remotely. It may also be worth it to those with serious health concerns and the people around them.
