Is there anything that's made math "click" with you?

I know it's logical, I know it's unfaltering, but have you had any "OH FUCK" moments with your understanding of math in general?

As someone who actually works in a laboratory doing real science I can 100% guarantee you that if the show was a more accurate portrayal of scientists doing science then it would be the most boring, mundane, mind-numbing show for 99.999% of the population.

And being that it's designed to appeal to a wide audience in order to use the metrics to increase the value of ad slots, I have no problem with them making it light and fluffy sitcom whackiness.

If you're upset by that you need to reevaluate your life.

ITT: Anecdotal evidence

Basically, if you smoke it a lot before your brain has finished growing then the effects can be permanent. Basically being a dumb fuck. If you smoke a lot after your brain has finished growing, the effects reverse after abstinence.

It can also bring on psychological conditions you're already predisposed to, such as schizophrenia. It cannot create these conditions though.

The biggest danger is behavioural. For example, driving is extremely dangerous and stupid. Depth perception and reaction times are affected, as is a sense of risk, so walking across a highway might seem safe and a good idea.

That's about it. If you're going to look into it, use Google Scholar or something. Otherwise you're just going to get opinions and anecdotal evidence.

Indoctrination is the word you're after, OP

The parents believe they're doing the right thing (because their parents did too, and so on). And the government doesn't have the right to stop them. "Harm" to children doesn't include indoctrination.

It's up to the /sci/ crowd to bring science to their dark ignorance. Carl Sagan, Brian Cox, fuck... even that blue-haired girl. Science lacks the marketing budget and know-how of commercial television and churches. There's your challenge.

Vegans have this weird idea that humans and animals are equal and humans are not a greater species who have the right to devour hapless animals.

Okay... If we're all equal then why is it okay for the eagle to eat the rat but not the human to eat the cow?

For someone from /lit/ you know fuck all about good sci-fi.

Aliens and space ships and pew pew laser fights are all tertiary. Sci-fi tackles "What is humanity?" or rather "What does it mean to be human?" first and then there are politics/religion/war/etc secondary.

Cyberpunk and trans-humanism, The Borg, Culture, cloning, artificial intelligence, teleportation... All delve into the meaning of humanity and how far/close from/to human can you get before humanity is achieved. Then, explain your answer.
