I never learned to study in high school, because it came easily. People told me this would change in college, but it didn't really, I procrastinated and last-minute-studied just as much and was completely fine. How bad is grad school going to fuck me?

When doing physics, what are the main things I must pay attention to, to be able to solve the problem efficiently?

Couple of things from the top of my head:
1. understanding what the problem is asking of you to do, find
2. taking into consideration all the physical forces and quantities the problem contains
3. writing down the most basic formulas that relate the aforesaid forces/quantities

Any way to do it more efficiently? What else would you add? Also, apart from using the basic principles and formulas, what's the point of deriving a monster formula that embodies all the tiny basic formulas? Shouldn't I be able to solve any problem by just using the simple basic principles? (btw I'm currently self teaching kinematics, high school level physics, and I'm not familiar with calculus aside from the most basic derivation)

I was in the same boat as you, until I decided I will just pick engineering. From what people have told me here, and from what I've read, chances of getting a job as a physicist with a physics degree (meaning you actually get to work in the physics field) are demoralising. A lot of physicists end up working elsewhere, finance or some shit. That's why I personally decided I will pick engineering.

Does anyone have something like this but less crowded and more aesthetically pleasing? The point is to have common math identities and values in front of me all the time. (sqrt(2)/2, sqrt(3)/2, etc.)

In the meantime /sci/ wallpaper thread I guess.

When will I be able to say I am a physicist?

Surely it's not when I complete my BS. But what if I work under a professor, get paid, for doing physics research? Am I physicist then?

Is it when I get my PhD? Or when I have people working under me?

I suppose this may not exactly be a /sci/ question but more one of semantics, but I wunna hear your thoughts
