actually, dumping the waste really isn't that troublesome. the big fuel rod containment casks will hold that shit nice and cozy for a few hundred thousand years, and underground facilities like yucca mountain are perfect. no tectonic activity or a water table (even though it'd been shown that very heavy elements have very extreme difficulty passing through rock towards water tables).

the hope is that light water reactors limp along for a few more decades, then we switch to the good stuff

technically this formed like five months ago right after i did my homework and realized a backyard LFTR was just beyond feasible, and realized it's probably better to stay as an activist for the moment so i don't get FBI'd for breeding weapons or something. i've just been so busy with college i never really go around to working more on it.

i fully realize that. How i word the title of the video, and how i construct the first three seconds of video are THE MOST CRUCIAL aspects of this, because that's within the "i'm bored time, to play call of duty" timeframe. i'm still stumped on how to hook people with that.

i even made some crude diagrams for fun. this was before i realized for much fuel salt i would need, and that the critical mass of U233 was actually kind of big, the smallest i'd be able to make would be like a 100Mw plant

i didn't actually spend any money or anything, but i spent a solid month planning things out. Made a call to the nrc about how it would legally work out, they basically require 20 years to start any kind of nuclear reactor (before any construction), mostly design approval and shit.

a few people had tried to do it on the down-low. one of them blabbed about it to friends and got arrested by the fbi (thought he was making weapons material). another guy got horribly radiation poisoned because he didn't know about u232, and the third guy got arrested as well.

it's not worth it. Advocacy is the way to go

i very much wish my main interest could easily translate into a cool small scale hobby project

modified it more, making the gas cycle turbine workings more obvious, and removing the essentially superfluous step of removing Pa233 from the thorium salt blanket

also, turns out i really do not need that much U233, it's pretty sparsely mixed into the carrier salt
