For an insomniac, does intensive thinking damage the brain? Also does insomnia cause irreversible brain damage?

Question:

Doing homework or some intense mental activity with chronic insomnia will destroy brain (kill brain cells). Is this true? I feel extremely exhausted all of the time, mentally and physically. I've had insomnia for 4 months already. It began when I was 17 (I am now 18). I've posed a question once before here regarding the possibility of irreversible brain damage from chronic insomnia. I'd like to hear either from an informed person or a neurologist.
