Solar is nice as long as you build it in the right place.
I live in northern scandinavia (far off the map) and even here we have people installing solar because it's trendy in fucking California. Sure it's not the worst investment with current energy prices but at under 800 kWh/kWp it's just a waste of perfectly good panels.
