Isn't this still up for debate?
I mean I don't think we can come to any conclusions regarding free will until he have a better understanding of the brain, as well as the behavior of matter at the subatomic level.

Quick question.
Ive completed college algebra and want to start taking harder classes like calculus or discrete mathematics. The thing this is though that I don't trust myself to do well in a math classes, especially if I already have a course load of study intensive classes like A&P and microbiology classes.
Would it be possible for me to attend a large calculus class to listen to the lecture? What are the chances/repercussions of getting caught? Or can I just go up to the teacher the first day and ask him/her if I can bum in their class for the semester?

Agreed. Biology is fucking science. Its the science of life processes. And just so you know, biology isn't just were you study animals and shit like that. Ever heard of the electron transport chain, or cellular respiration? Hardcore. Metabolic pathways. Super fucking hardcore
Pic related: Its all the shit your body does so you can extract energy from food while you sit on your ass all day.

I have a ridiculously simple linear algebra question. And no I'm not a homeworkfag. I've had the solutions to the problem for a long time, but I have a dispute with the professor, who doesn't seem to understand my question.

Question is, If you have a set of positive real numbers where addition, x+y is defined as x*y, and where multiplication, x*y is defined as x^y, does this set constitute a vector space.

My professor says yes because the set obeys all 10 axioms that define a vector space.

However, I asked.
How can this set be closed under scaler multiplication when:

(1/2)x=x^(1/2)...
because x^(1/2) has two values, the positive and negative square roots of x.

Doesn't the existence of a negative root make this set not closed under scaler multiplication?

ie 4^(1/2)=+/-2...
