/sci/,

Knowing you, this will be easy for you, but it is confusing me so if you would help that'd be nice.

I have to find the perimeter of a larger solids' base. The smaller solid has a perimeter of 12, and the scale ratio is 2:3. So the perimeter of the larger base is 18. (correct me if I'm wrong.)

So what I'm confused about is finding the total area of the larger sold and the volume of the larger solid.

With my math and what I did (I think I did it wrong) is for the total surface area of the larger solid is 97.2 inches squared, and the volume of the larger solid is 91.125 inches cubed.

Yeah yeah, this is really easy shit (10th grade geometry) I know, but I'm not the best at math, and I just wanna check if I'm right or not. And could you show me the process of how to do this if I'm wrong please. Thanks.

I'm a complete idiot looking to understand how to think critically and argue my beliefs with logic and rationality.

Where do I start?

I'm a dumbass, but I want to change that.

I want to be able to take and argue a stance based on logic and reasoning.

I'm pretty ignorant of these things, but I'm tired of being that way.

Where the hell should I start? What subject should I read up on? What's crucial to being able to argue?

So here's the deal /sci/, I am set to transfer from a cc to a university next semester. I've done fairly well at the cc (GPA is 3.6) and I have also completed the entirety of the math prerequisites that I need for my major (Mechanical Engineering). What I wondering is whether a university is so much harder than a cc. I mean I consider myself pretty smart but I am definitely afraid of transferring up to a uni and failing out the first semester.

So basically, has any other /sci/bros transferred from a cc to a uni and done well?
