Statistics General.

What do you use statistics for? are you making money from it? what are you doing? Forecasting? Don't care, lets just do this.

I'll start: I'm a uni student doing business modelling. love the course but don't have any way of applying it IRL at the moment. I'm mucking around with a system to predict the outcome of afl games but looking for something that involves a bit of time series analysis and forecasting.

What potential difference is needed to accelerate a He+ ion (charge of + e, mass of 4u) from rest to a speed of 5.0×105 m/s?

Why isn't it just: (.5)*(mass)*(final velocity)^2 = -(charge)*(potential difference)

I fucking hate this course.
