Not everyone seems to agree that intelligence is determined by your parents. What do you guys think? Is intelligence (mostly measured in IQ) genetic?

I just read a post that asked:
Why is there a universe
Why are we here
Where are we going.
Instead of replying to the thread and not getting noticed, I chose to start a new thread

There is no reason for life, our only mission is to reproduce and survive. Anything else is considered secondary to this. You ask "why is there a universe", which is like asking: why is this book red? There does not have to be a reason to everything, and even if there is a reason for the existence of our universe, thinking about it right now is pointless due to our limited technology and understanding. Right now asking "why are we here" is about as useful as a caveman asking "How do I make a nuclear reactor".

It is simply beyond our reach at the moment. Your questions doesnt disprove athiests, and let me remind you of what religion gave us

I have a confession:
I've been doing maths and science for years, but despite that there are two things that I still don't understand fundamentally
1. How the trigonometric functions are derived
2. How/why calculus works

Despite using these two things extensively and pretty much every day, I still don' completely understand them.
