>"invert this three by three matrix"
>no
>do the rest of the test half assed
>get a six
>passing grade here, believe it or not
>do another test
>mostly integration by parts and substitution
>stuff's ridiculously trivial
>literally can't be arsed to double check literally anything
>5
>pass anyway because I got a ten in a previous test which didn't require all that much work
>macroeconomics test
>derive algebraically the Taylor rule
>do all the stuff
>kill me
>get a 3 because I couldn't arse myself
>my grade average is basically 7.8 or close enough
>at home
>study new maths subjects compulsively, pirate books on libgen like I'm insane, solve questions people ask on /sqt/ and here for the fun of it
How do you guys motivate yourselves into getting good grades in painfully boring stuff like multivariable calculus or deriving algebraic rules? Is there a trick to it that I don't know?

I hate it so much when this happens. There's little anon with his problem, and out comes my person with the most disgustingly basic counterexample to rain on his parade.

A'ight, so I figured out that Galois's intuition for group theory is actually the best thing since sliced bread and working with groups as permutations on a random set X allows me to do amazingly pretty stuff such as treating isomorphisms and homomorphisms as other permutations on X.
But I've got absolutely no idea how to extend this intuition to multiplication. Thoughts?
