If this is a general Q&A than I've got one that's been bugging me.

Could someone explain what people mean by the idea of a "flat" or "curved" universe?

I've heard the terms thrown around a lot before but I'm not really getting the picture of what they mean.

How to know if I'm keeping up with the rest of the world in my year group in math? My country's educational system seriously staggers behind the rest of the world in math, basically our advanced courses are equal to the normal ones of other countries. I hate that I have to take extra courses just to keep up with the others, especially since I'm not retarded. Any advice?
