Hey Math,

I'd like some help in learning Maths. Main areas I have to COMPLETELY MASTER are algebra, sequences and series, logarithms and exponentials, trigonometry, differentiation and integration.
Any advice? in what order to learn shit, books, links, study tips, etc.

Thanks for the help!

/sci/ I'd really appreciate your help here. It's a stupid question but I can't figure out why the answer is 25/4:

f(x) = x^2 - x + 2 is on the interval [-2, 2]. If M is the absolute max value on this interval and m is the absolute min, what is M - m?

I know, I'm an idiot.

hello /sci/ i am teaching my self calculus, after haveing worked through basic and complex differentiation with relative ease, i started on basic integration and i am stuck on a problem

so if you can help i would greatly appreciate it
i will include the method i used which i know is incorrect due to reading the books working for it which doesn't make much sense to me

<span class="math"> \int_{1}^{2}[(\sin \pi x)+\pi \ln (3x)]
<span class="math"> \int_{1}^{2}[-\frac{1}{\pi }\cos (\pi x)+x\pi\ln (3x)-x]
<span class="math"> \int_{1}^{2}[-\frac{1}{\pi }\cos (2\pi )+2\pi\ln (6)-2]^{2}- [-\frac{1}{\pi }\cos (\pi )+\pi\ln (3)-1]_{1}
which when worked out comes to
<span class="math"> \int_{1}^{2}[8.392]-[2.496]=5.896
so an explanation would be bloody fantastic

Hey /sci/, I haven't taken calculus yet, but I am going to take it when this semester starts and I was wondering if anyone has any advice maybe?

I don't really have trouble with math and it boggles my mind why so many people say it is so difficult. Is calculus actually difficult or is it just exaggeration?

The only related pic I could find
