I just moved to a new city. They guy in the grocery store was eyeballing me with incredulity as he recognized me.
WHAT DO YOU SAY ARE THE CHANCES THAT
(a) HE RECOGNIZED ME FOR SOMETHING GOOD THAT I DID
(b) FOR SOMETHING BAD THAT I DID
(c) FOR SOMETHING BAD THAT SOMEONE ELSE DID WHICH MADE HIM HAVE DISDAIN FOR ME?

I'd say the chances of him recognizing me for something good I did are 0%, for something bad I did <1%, and it was definitely for the mockery someone else made of me.

Any statisticians? What is the p-value of the null hypothesis?

They say there was some drama about how long it took Einstein to get a professorship, and in his case he was at least allowed to publish in venues that qualify as "publications" in the technical parlance of those who grovel for the pennies the government throws at them.
