Why is (x+y)/2 (assuming x>y) the same as y+(x-y)/2

Say you have an IQ of 130-145 range. How quickly do you learn advance math?

Can someone explain how to add:

(ar^(k+1)-a)/(r-1) + ar^(k+1)

I got it to

(ar^(k+1)-a)/(r-1) + (r-1)(ar^(k+1) ) / (r-1)

But I don't know what to do next.

Potassium carbonate isn't strong enough of a base to make the alkoxide. Instead, it's used to deprotonate the oxonium ion formed after the SN1 attack by the alcohol on the carbocation.

If an alkoxide was formed (if for example the catalyst was NaOH instead), the reaction would be SN2 not SN1.

Most crypto books I come across even "beginner" ones are too advanced for me. I need one that assumes less mathematical knowledge and is self-contained. Any recommendations?

to be real i did o pure math, now doing cs. i just wanted to shitpost. i can be serious. i just needed an outlet. you'll be able to identify me in future shitpost threads if 1) it's around "why is cs a meme:" and then 2) mention topics that i claim every computer scientist use (which is false).

Solve the following pair of simultaneous equations (show all steps)

1) 4x + 5y = 33

2) -x + 3y = 12

I will love you forever pls
