What physical chemical events, specifically, account for the accumulation of memory in brains, human or otherwise?

Obviously memory is physical, this accounts for the loss of memories in people with brain damage or people suffering from forms of amnesia.

But how is memory stored? Is it stored in a specific part of the brain, or is it stored throughout the entire brain?

>mfw I study particle physics in my spare time
>I enjoy it but can't take course on it because I sucked in high school (particularly at maths).

I'm restricted to wiki, sixty symbols and google.

Anything else you guys can suggest?

Hello /sci/, I have a philosophical question for you. Do you believe meteorology and electromagnetism necessarily disproves the existence of Zeus? I am an atheist, but I don't see why the two ideas can't be reconciled. What are your thoughts ?
