Oops, I meant to say "late 2032 / early 2033".
If any of you are planning to see the eclipse this year, there's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe Venus in a seriously crescent phase. Like the moon, the closer Venus is to our Sun in the sky, the more crescent it is. However, it's very hard to see Venus more crescent than the middle row first on the left because the closer something is to the Sun, the more washed out it gets. As somebody who has been avidly observing the sky for over 25 years, I've *never* seen Venus more crescent than the middle pic in the middle row (pic related), and even that required going to a beach where I had a solid view of the horizon and could catch it just before the sunrise.

During the eclipse, Venus will be separated from the Sun by about the width of a hand at arm's length (it will be close to its inferior conjunction). As such, its phase will appear like one of the last 2 pics, and its disk will be more than 3x larger than the last time you likely observed it for yourself. As I said, this is literally the one opportunity to see Venus at such an extreme of its phase cycle.

P.S. during the eclipse, ALL naked-eye Solar system bodies will be visible simultaneously: Mercury, Venus, the Moon & Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn lined up along the arc of the ecliptic. Once-in-a-lifetime.

More phases of Venus, the easiest to photograph from Earth means there's a lot more images of Venus in phase

If the earth is flat, then explain
>how and why every country's space program since the 50s was hoaxed
>how gps and satellite communications work
>why the moon and venus visibly go through phases
