>Meanwhile, I was doing well in mathematics. It was fun to solve mathematical problems, but in a deeper sense mathematics was boring and empty because for me it had no purpose. If I had worked on applied mathematics I would have contributed to the development of the technological society that I hated, so I worked only on pure mathematics. But pure mathematics was only a game. I did not understand then, and I still do not understand, why mathematicians are content to fritter away their whole lives in a mere game. I myself was completely dissatisfied with such a life.

Mathematics is just a game, just get over it, you guy play with things that is usefull to theses murderer of scientists, you are pathetically childish to play with living things.

Anyone else think science is a threat?

before you talk about how science increased the lifespan and the well being of most peoples, 80 percent of the world is poor and do not have access to all the supposed great things science generated

>but we have to keep trying, we can't know if we don't try

What do you want to prove, again?

Theodore kaczynski (the unabomber), mailed bombs to various professors and industrialists. Around the country. He also wrote a 30 pages essay called "Industrial society and its future"

Has anyone read it? I have found a few people on /sci/ in the past who have read it and appreciated it (like I have), which is totally against the grain of normal /sci/ opinion.

>implying that people of today, even in wealthy nations like the US or UK don't live short lives and don't engage in menial labor.

Also OP, apart from the manifesto you might wanna read "The Road To Revolution", it's the manifesto+ a few other short texts, essays and letters by Ted that expand on his ideas.
Additionally, I'd like to point out that Ted didn't set out to destroying the world out of revenge, when reading his stories, I felt that he rather felt endangered. The Fragment you quoted about that plateau doesn't read like "they destroyed my forest, now I will bathe them in crude IEDs", it rather reads like... a fear stricken man seeing that his world is being undone by corporations and machines and trying to sabotage them.
I think he must feel alike to the indigenous people slowly being wiped out by progress.
What do you wanna talk about, OP?
pic related, it's Ted in high school.
