Some may indeed have a "mental illness" but now it's mainly because they are just purely uneducated retards and don't even understand the implications of what they ask. They do it specifically under the illogical assumption that they were "meant to be the other sex" despite never having led the lifestyle of such nor being born with the biological equipment. They are then told that they can have "their own penis" or "their own vagina" when in reality that is a complete fucking lie told to them by an authority that they appeal to. It's not a "penis", it's your fucking armskin with a hole in that acts like a duct for your mutilated vagina. It's not a "vagina", it is a mutilated penis that has been turned inside out to simulate a hole where a vagina would be.
However, since they have been brought up in a world that told them "no this is actually a penis/vagina and it's yours!", they start to believe it. The real people with the mental disorders are the people who perform these operations, the people that tell them that it's perfectly acceptable and the people who write laws for society which further enables this insanity.
