How did the Germans aim their rockets?

I'm more of a bio and math guy than a physics person, so maybe that's the reason, but I can't figure out how they aimed them (very successfully, given the context) because

A)No targeting control system
B)No way of remotely targeting
C)No course correction

Was it just all estimating thrust and lift combined with the rocket's drag and G?

I'm very curious as to how they pulled it off
