How did you know/find out the Easter Bunny, Santa, and such didn't exsist when you were a kid?

Just wondering what kind of logical thought processes some of you went through to find out that Santa/Easter Bunny wasn't real.

For me, fucking Fox 8 ruined it for me. I was either ending preschool or starting kindergarten when I heard on the t.v. that Santa would need to travel x m/s (in which case x > 3x10^8 m/s) in order to reach all the houses in one day.

I had a conversation with my dad probably a couple weeks prior to this newscast asking him what's the fastest speed you could travel at and what if it was possible for a person to go that fast.

So I put 2 and 2 together and said something along the lines of "Fox 8 said Santa had to be traveling faster than the speed of light. But you can't to go faster than the speed of light. People can't even travel at the speed of light so Santa must be fake"

They then proceeded to try and convince me for about 15 mins that Santa was still real, probably because they were expecting a couple more years of me believing in Santa.

Then I realized if Santa wasn't real, then neither was the Easter Bunny.
