The absolute brainletism in this thread inspired me to try and look up college enrollment statistics. Interestingly all data that I can see at first glance is outright maliciously obfuscated, either by only providing irrelevantly short time frames (2010 is far post-decline) or using bunk metrics like #students/total population.
Only a few metrics would make sense, and I would have expected most of them to be obvious. There are still caveats but these are at least salvageable
1) total number of students enrolling each year
2) students enrolling/year strength
3) dropout rates in each year (that is, %age of dropouts of all students from <year> that enrolled)
