So /sci/ I have a question
I'll be attending college for the first time this upcoming fall. (underage b&, etc, w/e)

I've always had a passion for science, and in particular astronomy.

So tell me, what's the best career path for science?
Is astronomy doing ok with all this economic bullshit happening? I've heard varying sides that it's a hard field to break into, limited jobs, etc

My other passion is environmental, possibly engineering. Same question as above, how is the field? Would research come by easily? If anything, I'd probably be specializing in environmental engineering.
That or nuclear.
