Which means absolutely nothing. Even if the buildings would just drift if cut loose, the ledge could still break off, as precarious as it looks. Not to mention loose boulders or undersea landslides from the cliff up above.

There are a few methods to protect from those, but a few of them don't seem to have been employed here.

Unless the structures are made from ultra-strong materials, I'd rather live in a steel shell built inside a cliff.
