>when somebody else has an infection
"Antibiotic resistance is a real problem. Leaving aside the fact that there should be harsh regulations against the use of antibiotics in the food supply on the scale we see today, many common infections have become resistant to our usual arsenal of antibiotics, and we run the risk of running out of old antibiotics to use faster than we can come up with new ones. Staph basically shrugs of penicillin now. We should probably exercise more caution in who gets prescribed what, and patients need to be instructed to always finish them, even if they feel better."

>when I get an infection
"No, fuck that, give me zithro. Yeah, really, write me a script for a Z pak, fuck this kiddy shit. Yeah, I know what it does. My ear felt a little weird too, though, and I coughed a few times yesterday, so I'm not even gonna risk this shit spreading or turning into pneumonia. Yeah, I say let's just nuke it. No, I'll live, my liver's prolly fine. Yeah, that's the shit. Thanks, doc!"
Somebody explain to me why I'm like this.
