>tl;dr: the US likely new about Osama's location as early as 2005

Obama announed the killing of Osama bin Laden (OSL) shortly after WikiLeaks published its Guantanamo files. I would like to present the evidence that this is not a coincidence, and that it reveals that the US government new about Osama's whereabouts as early as 2005.

Earlier this year, former WikiLeaks employee Daniel Domscheit-Bergmade stole a large portion of the Guantanamo files and made a deal with David Leigh of the Guardian to publish them. The files were also shared with the New York Times and the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. However, the published files were censored, with information removed at the behest of the secret service. Julian Assange didn't hesitate to recover, publishing the Guantanamo files through the Washington Post and the Daily Telegraph. Most importantly, *these* files didn't contain any censorship.

"The most important redactions by Leigh and Keller [New York Times] were directly dictated by the US intelligence services. The name of Nashwan Abd Al Razzaq Abd Al Baqi, or by another name, Abd al Hadi al Iraqi or by his number IZ-10026 was edited away from the file of Abu al-Libi (US9LY-010017DP) and elsewhere." (http://www.counterpunch.org/cockburn05062011.html).). Al - Iraqi was captured in 2005, and is currently being detained in Guantanamo. This is important because al-Iraqi was in close contact with Osama's closest courier, al-Libi.
