Can't, because people want to invest in the finished product- like "memecoins" or "mass mrna clinical trials"-.
Like /biz/, they think anything that's "only a 2x return" is a waste of time.
They want to invest in "big dreams", because they have access to Billions/Trillions of $$$, and a large amount of that arguably doesn't even belong to them, yet they have control of the funds being an aggregate of millions of different peoples' various financial accounts.

There's quite a few different fields/industries that are severely underfunded. Although it's not necessarily accurate to say the industries are underfunded, but more like they are critically mismanaged, questionably staffed, and seem to be as accountable from any oversight as they are transparent, honest, and well-intentioned.

Reminder: we could have clean, unlimited energy generators by now; we could even start building them right now if we wanted.

But no one actually cares.
It's more fun to talk about freezing to death, and arguing over "le nuclear power", instead of actually discussing cheap, practical solutions.
