So when we detect photons, how many do we detect at once? Is it just a couple?

My understanding of wave-particle duality is that it's just concentrated energy created by observation. That there aren't millions of photons of light at once.

Is this right or wrong?

Also, my teacher is pretty easy going. He doesn't like when kids are late for class, but still lets them in the lab. However, if they're chewing gum, take off their goggles, or drinking water, he flips his shit, which is a fucking good thing. I've seen him fail someone's lab on the spot for there things.
