Why do you think Drexler's nanomachines aren't possible?
If it's not possible, what are the biggest technical hurdles preventing it? How close to it do you think we could get?

Drexler's vision of nanomachines coming to fruition, so you can create any resource you need as long as you have the raw material and the right elements for it.
Far starters, use them to build a huge array of solar panels in space.

(the way it looks in Avengers and other sci-fi probably isn't possible, but something that moves much slower and doesn't look as impressive should be possible)
