How would long distance radio communications in space realistically work? I know that NASA uses the Deep Space Network, and those are just giant series of big-ass radio dishes, right? So would I be able to use a CB radio on the surface of the moon and have it be picked up by an orbiting satellite if I just have it amplified enough? Or would I have to use a specific range of the band?
