Can you not just appreciate the prof for trying to make his class more friendly to young folks?

20 years from now, you will be the boomer who has no idea about the trends of the youth and any attempts at trying to connect would always turn out cringe to them

It's called Moravec's paradox.
Contrary to what society wanted you to believe, thinking logically and analytically is simple as shit

As far as Artificial Intelligence is concerned, the ability to think creatively is incomparably more complex. Hence why we have AIs that can do entire quantumn calculations but not a single one that can do art, music, and philosophy. (There are some but they are massively inferior to real artists)

You don't get it, do you?
Similar to the industrial revolution, an AI world would just simply things. What used to be considered as dirty jobs that need people who would be dehumanized (garbage collectors, janitors, retail, etc) would just require people who has to check whether the AI is not making faulty errors, does it have enough energy, push a button here and there and so on.

The upcoming jobs of course would now require a different set of skills but guess what? The businesses needed laborers and the government need the business to keep on running
As such, it would be in their best interest to provide training or else the would have no workers and cause the spending power of society to fall, thus reducing the taxes that the government could collect

> A 2017 study on the effect of automation on Germany found no evidence that automation caused total job losses but that they do effect the jobs people are employed in; losses in the industrial sector due to automation were offset by gains in the service sector. Manufacturing workers were also not at risk from automation and were in fact more likely to remain employed, though not necessarily doing the same tasks. However, automation did result in a decrease in labour's income share as it raised productivity but not wages.[131]

AIs is just another form of automation. It ain't gonna kill jobs and actually provide more in the other departments like service, energy, and technical support.

Also, pretty much. You need a lifetime of mastery to provide a masterpiece but that's beside the point. More time means more time to waste. The human mind is not adapted for contentment and would always seek a purpose provide by art and entertainment. There maybe a lot of literary works in history but come on, very few read the classics and neo-classicism because the story was based off a generation that is alien to ours.

We probably could, just with greater difficulty than within our solar system "bubble".
In fact, earth itself has a bubble - we call it the atmosphere.

If only we could break out of the bubble called "reality" though. That would be bliss.
