How do I solve this?

10^x * x^2 = 1000

What would happen if you somehow were able to teleport yourself into a 4 dimensional space? Would you still see things as you normally do (3D interpretation of 2D) or what?

Priors are always fucking up shit. If you have enough data then in a simple case like this they don't make much difference in the end, although it is still kinda... wrong... that there is no "right" answer in the end.

Why do we recycle /sci/?

Would it not be better to use materials that are biodegradable or are easily recycled.

For most containers, use Paper/cardboard and glass?

I mean glass isn't that expensive, its cost is actually comparable to most plastics, can be sterilized (unlike plastic), and when it breaks can be melted down into a new container without having to go through a huge bullshit manufacturing process that takes shitloads more energy to re-use the material than to make a new one and deal with bleach and other shit chemicals that are dumped into the environment as a result.

And with paper, we can just throw it into a landfill and watch it as it degrades into methane, which we can collect and burn for energy, not the cleanest, but still relatively clean when you compare it to coal or oil.

Of course things like plastic bags for garbage and surgical gloves and the like cannot be replaced with glass or paper, but can we not use paper and glass for more things like beverages or containers? It seems like there's this massively reaching stigma associated with not recycling, and it seems completely illogical to me.

There's even money in recycling glass over plastic or paper.

Err, while the soy stuff is great, I rather meant that they have a culture of muscle cells and then grow the stuff in vats, having the cells just replicate and replicate so you're left with a tub full of meat but no animal slaughter as there's no nervous system or anything besides very tender meat.

>I just think we have a lot of adjustments to do.
Well I definitely agree with you there, we just have slightly differing views on how it'll pan out. But I respect your viewpoint.

Lets say theoretically I were to pull a Tesla and wish to begin building a LFTR in my backyard, where would I even start to obtain knowledge for such a project? Would I need to get a proper nuclear engineering degree and then first be involved in official research in it or could I just read a lot of nuclear engineering textbooks and read the papers from the Oak Ridge site and begin to work out the details on my own?

Not necessarily true. If transhumanism pans out, I will be able to inspect the empty remnants of what once used to be my body.

Fuuuuck, that's going to be supremely weird. Standing outside your own body, looking at yourself, and realizing you were in there your entire life. Like a ghost looking back at his dead body.

I can feel a sci-fi novel idea coming on.

Does it even matter anymore? It seems like all countries incur debt some way or another, and continue to gain without too much change in the way they run things.

How does sound work? I mean, I get how things are higher and lower, but how does tone work, and all those other aspects? I know it's complicated, so if someone could direct me to a paper about it, that'd be just as good.

People need to sell books directly on a website with nearly no publisher costs so that the costs are actually quite low and the person actually gets paid more.

What can cause an event light like the one shown in the video? I've never seen an object shoot down followed by tremendous speed back up.

I don't believe in alien landings, or any other form of intelligent life that has the ability to travel in space, but the video was interesting.

So please, no fucking aliens or God.

I am just wondering about the possible use of modified Alcubierre drive technology, directing their existing orbital momentum in closer toward the sun.

Would require some pretty serious warping of spacetime.
