That instrument measure normal reaction and gives the reading so assuming if all the flies are in air then they will be doing random motion assuming they dont bump into the container while flying if thats the case then it should weight 1 kg
If all the flies are sitting on the container then the answer should be 1.5 kg because of the extra weight adding up to the container thus adding to the normal force
Last if we assume some flies are flying in air while some are sitting on the container then the answer will be variable and i suck at math so lets just average it out and say 1.25 kg
