Amusing fact - the government brought in a physics professor from MIT to go over Tesla's notes. John Trump was his name. His nephew is pretty famous.

The US government did seize all of Tesla's paperwork after he died, and had a physics professor at MIT, John Trump go over them.

Whether or not their was anything useful in Tesla's notes is unknown; John Trump said it had nothing practical, but could have kept the good stuff for himself. I suppose you could ask his rather famous nephew.
